Hazardous Waste Operations & Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) - 40 Hr.

This course is specifically designed for workers who are involved in clean-up operations, voluntary clean-up operations, emergency response operations, and storage, disposal, or treatment of hazardous substances on uncontrolled hazardous waste sites. This training provides the student with knowledge of the safe practices that will protect them during their daily work, during cleanup (remediation) or in an emergency response situation. Our experienced instructors provide guidance in practical, easy to understand language. Topics covered include: Hazard Assessment and Analysis; Chemical Properties and Behaviors; Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); Confined Space; Hazard Communications; Medical Surveillance; Spill Response; Decontamination Procedures; the Incident Command System and Excavation.

Confined Space Entry - 8 Hr.

During this 8 hour program participants will learn the proper procedures for making entry into permit-required confined spaces. This training will prepare the participant to operate in the capacity of Entrant, Attendant or Entry Supervisor during confined space operations. Participants will become familiar with 29 CFR 1910.146 and how to properly employ the permit program. This course is a combination of classroom instruction and practical application utilizing the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment, air sampling instruments and proper ventilation methods. This course of instruction is required by OSHA before an employee can enter a permit-required confined space. NOTE: This training does not cover the site specific requirements or the on-site emergency rescue training. Call for details if additional training is needed.

Powered Industrial Truck & Forklift - 6 Hr.

The OSHA Powered Industrial Trucks standard requires training of all employees who operate powered industrial trucks such as forklifts. This class provides training on the OSHA required standards, proper training and inspection documentation, the inspection process, operator responsibilities, and safe forklift operation practices.

Hazard Communications (HAZCOM) - 4 Hr.

This HAZCOM class provides an understanding of the OSHA requirements for employee training and documentation. Components of the HAZCOM training consists of: chemical inventory, the use of Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and retention requirements, determining proper chemical container labeling requirements, and the State of Alaska OSHA required Physical Agent Data Sheets (PADS).

HAZWOPER 8 Hr. Annual Refresher Training

The 8-Hour HAZWOPER Refresher Course meets OSHA requirements for annual refresher training of personnel engaged in hazardous waste operations as outlined in 29 CFR 1910.120(e). Topics covered include (but are not limited to) decontamination, confined spaces, excavation, emergency response, toxicology, the use of the NIOSH Pocket Guide and the DOT Emergency Response Guide books, emergency response table top exercises, site investigations, and construction work in which hazardous materials may potentially be encountered. The 8-Hour annual refresher is designed to update those who have already successfully completed a 24 or 40-Hour HAZWOPER course.

OSHA 10 Hour Construction or General Industry Outreach

These courses are designed for the workers, foremen, job supervisors, and anyone involved in the construction or general industry. OSHA recommends Outreach Training courses as an orientation to occupational safety and health for workers covered by 29 CFR 1910 and 1926 OSHA standards. Workers must receive additional training on the specific hazards of their job when required by specific OSHA standards. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive an OSHA 10-Hour Construction or General Industry Outreach DOL course completion card within 4-6 weeks.

OSHA 30 Hour Construction or General Industry Outreach

These OSHA 30 Hour Construction and General Industry Outreach Training courses are comprehensive safety programs designed for anyone involved in the construction or general industries. Specifically developed for safety directors, foremen, and field supervisors; the training provides extensive information on OSHA compliance issues. OSHA recommends Outreach Training Programs as an orientation to occupational safety and health for workers covered by 29 CFR 1910 and 1926 OSHA standards. Construction workers must receive additional training on specific hazards of their job when required by specific OSHA standards. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive an OSHA 30-Hour Construction or General Industry Outreach DOL course completion card within 4-6 weeks. The OSHA 30 Hour Construction and General Industry Outreach Training course includes quizzes to ensure an understanding of OSHA safety requirements and regulations.

Trenching and Excavation Awareness - 4 Hr.

This 4-hour course is designed for construction personnel who will be responsible for working in or supervising excavation job sites. Attendees will learn OSHA competent person requirements for excavations, soil analysis, how to choose protective systems and general job site hazard awareness. Upon completion of the class, attendees will receive a student handbook, and a completion card.

First Aid & CPR with AED - 8 Hr.

The First Aid/CPR Course teaches participants how to respond to life-threatening emergencies. The course will provide a combination of knowledge development, skills development and realistic scenario practice to make sure participants have the confidence in their ability to provide First Aid and CPR care when a medical emergency situation arises. Both First Aid and CPR certifications are good for two years from the date of issue.

OSHA Recordkeeping – 4 Hr.

This 4 hour course should be a must for any employee assigned to record accident and injury information. The course is designed to improve the quality of workplace injury and illness recordkeeping. Attendees will learn the recordkeeping process, required entries on the OSHA 300 Log, posting of the OSHA 300A summary, accident reporting requirements, what injuries and illnesses must be recorded (defining what is a first aid incident), OSHA notification procedures, employee access and privacy concerns, and increasing awareness of potential hazards in the workplace.
